A Bug in the System: The Mysterious Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Glitch that’s Targeting Snipers

Call of Duty Warzone 2 users are facing an unusual bug that prevents them from sniping. However, it’s not clear how widespread and severe the problem is.

An unusual bug renders it impossible for Call of Duty players not to snipe. Activision’s popular first-person shooter battle royale is very popular. This is because the developers have made headshots the only reliable kill. Unfortunately, there aren’t many things players can do if the game suddenly stops working while they’re engaged in a long-range battle.

Infinity Ward and Raven Software created Call of Duty Warzone 2, which received mostly positive reviews. While Warzone 2 does not require the Modern Warfare 2 component, it is available for free play along with its parent title. Warzone2 contains many new features, including game modes and other content. Unfortunately, this includes some odd bugs.

Reddit user Kenja_Time said that “I know developers hate snipers, but I think this is a bit too much.” The post also contains a video of them playing Warzone 2. They see another opponent, perched high above Warzone 2’s Al Mazrah. The target is then placed in his crosshairs and the video cuts to black. An unhelpful error message followed the cut. The video then moves on to a sniper duel with another player, only for Warzone2 to cut to black again as they each fire.

Kenja_Time has had his game disconnected at least twice. This is enough evidence that it’s not an accident. They aren’t the only Warzone 2 player to experience the problem. SoCaLove, who was streaming live streams on March 5, experienced a similar disconnection. The streamer also suggested that the issue could be caused by a sniper glitch. Another user of Call of Duty Warzone shared a similar experience in a Warzone2DMZ battle.

Kenja_Time was laughing when he suggested Raven Software was deliberately disconnecting players that use sniper weapons. It is still a strange glitch. It isn’t clear how many players are also experiencing this issue. All reports of the problem seem to be restricted to Al Mazrah, Warzone 2’s DMZ area, and main battle Royale games. We hope developers find the root cause sooner rather than later.

Call of Duty Warzone2 can be downloaded now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One X/S, and Xbox Series Xbox One X/S.
